I went for the japanese scholarship test today, to my surprise, there's actually arouud 15-20 people going for the scholarships this time around. I wonder how many people are they recruiting for the scholarship. The rumours were that they have a quota every year, for each individual country, but the exact number is not known.
However, there was this girl that sorta pissed me off. I didn't talk to her at all, but I don't like her attitude, that's all. First, I saw her at the entrance of the gate of the embassy. I showed the guard my IC, to save his time and my time. I received a tick on his list, and I was able to go through the door.
The girl, so what did she do?
"Yes, the name in the middle.... NOOOO, down... down, nonono 2 more names down... yes that's it", and the way she was saying it, she seems to be blaming the guard to be stupid that he just can't get his pen to hit on her name on the list.
"What the FUCK... you don't have a name?"
Into the main office, the same thing happened again.
"What's your name?"
"No.8"
Surprisingly she's not the only one who did that. I heard a few, "This one, that one... nonono, upupup... nononono, down down down...."
What's wrong with these people? They don't like their names? They don't want to let people know their names? Or they are worried that people are not able to pronounce their names?
I think it's only polite to reply with your name, before starting to help pointing, or giving numbers to help the person find your name. These people actually bother to remember the position they are in on the list... Oh my...
Looks like the "register number" syndrome from primary school never died off from these people.
The test was cool, I managed to finish the whole Japanese section in 2 hours, and I left despite the test lasting 3 hours. I wasn't the first to go... in fact, I was somewhere in the middle. With the first guy leaving only about 15 minutes after the test started. My conclusion, this guy doesn't know japanese at all...
